The REC Report

The Recreation Studies program hosts a newsletter several times a year to keep our students, alumni, and friends of the program aware of all our great initiatives.  Our hopes are to create a community for our past and present Bobcats to stay connected.  See below for this months issue of The Rec Report as well as archived issues.

In our fourth issue we feature Danny Ingram, a senior who is taking a very heavy course load, Danny also talks about why he chose to switch his major from Marketing to Recreation Management.  Our Alumni spotlight this issue is the Aquatics Center Director Joe Wakeley.

In our third issue of The REC Report we hear from student Rechelle Frash and her great advice to upcoming REC Studies students and alumni Christian Johnson from Centervillle-Washington Park District.

In our second issue we feature Elliot Remer, a promising undergraduate student who is earning his degree in Recreation Studies, specializing in Outdoor Recreation and Education.  We also highlight Judd Walker, the Assistant Director of Outdoor Pursuits here at Ohio University.

This issue also has stories about AORE 2017 Conference, an Inclusive Archery Event, Office of Sustainability, and the Office of Sustainability

In our first Issue we feature Kristen Sullivan, who is pursuing her Master’s Degree at Ohio University in Recreation Studies, concentrating in Campus Recreation and Recreation Management.  The article discusses her capstone experience, designing and implementing an intramural wheelchair basketball league, here at OU.

This Issue also features James Gant, who is proud to have gotten both his undergraduate and masters degrees here at OU.  Currently James is Director of Prairie Township Community Center.
